Product Description
Accidents can happen at any time, without notice. As is often the case after an accident, we are disoriented and don’t always remember everything just prior to the impact. Law enforcement uses what you say immediately following an accident to assess fault that could adversely affect your financial well being. Sometimes, we don’t clearly remember the conditions of the road, weather, and traffic immediately following an accident. The Vehicle Safeguard will help solve … More >>

I purchased this for my brand new Mercedes. It works great! The infra-red focus on this in car camera is superb. You can actually see everything in front of you or in back of you while driving. Someone hit my car from the side a while ago. Even though it was his fault, he still blames me for running a red light. But the recording on this camera clearly showed that my light was green when his car ran into me. I showed this footage to the insurance company and won!

I liked the carcam for the $$ spent, but it stopped working
after a month. Changed batteries & SD memory card & NADA.
No company name, address etc on box. Don’t know who to even
return it to. Made in China. The only thing that works is
the red laser dot.

This is the exact same camera that other sellers on Amazon are selling for as little as $60
Here’s the review I gave it, regardless of vendor:
I’ve been quite unhappy with this unit.
The “manual” that came with it is written in the worst Chinese-mangled English I’ve ever seen. It’s useless. The button functions do not match what’s in the manual.
I finally figured out, by trial and error, how to make it record. You press and hold the bottom button for several seconds to get the blue LED to come on, then press and hold the top button for several seconds to get the blue LED to start blinking, indicating it’s recording.
It also has problems stopping the recording. Again, strictly by trial and error, I’ve figured out that to make it stop recording, you press and hold the bottom button. The blue LED stops blinking. But then it often resumes blinking. Even shutting off the power switch does not cause it to stop blinking. I have to remove the power cord to get it to stop blinking.
The vendor has ignored my several voice mails and filling out their “support” forms, asking for help in making this thing work.
Other than the hugely obnoxious and inconvenient method of getting it to start and stop recording, it’s not too bad. The videos it produces are small, but OK.
It’s useless after dark, but during the day, it’s ok. It lacks any time/date stamping, either on the video or on the files that get created.

For the low price, I wasn’t expecting much from this unit. It looks decent, it seems to be fairly durable, and I like the video looping feature (in principal). Unfortunately, it has a lot of shortcomings that render it largely useless for recording traffic:
*The resolution isn’t good enough to record license plates, or many road signs.
*The field of view is very narrow, which makes careful aiming/mounting essential.
*If the unit looses power while recording, you will loose the video footage.
*The camera won’t begin recording automatically when powered up.
*When the memory card is full, the unit formats the entire card (and doesn’t record for a few seconds while it erases all of your footage).
*Like at least one other reviewer’s camera, my unit records about every fifth video as a black screen with just a sliver of unrecognizable video at the bottom. Since the camera is permanently mounted, is only used in daylight hours, and is always turned on while pointing at a normally lit scene, I doubt that the problem is the result of anything that I’m doing.

At first when I purchased this I assumed it would provide some decent recording of my driving. However, it just doesn’t work well.
The video is very grainy. The device itself is ultra cheap. You can feel the cheap plastic that is used for this device. It feels like it is about to melt when I am driving under the sun. The buttons haven’t broken yet, but because of the way they are designed, will be embedded into the unit if you press too hard.
Worst of all, this device does not work with batteries. I don’t know why. Also if you wish to use the car charger, the a/c hole is on TOP of the unit! It does not look good already having the unit placed on the dash but now a wire sticking out from top just looks worse.
Sure, it was pretty flashy cover box; however this Made in China brand is probably worth only $10 dollars. No response from my seller duangnapas.
Stay away like the plague!!!
Oh yea, just like to add it does provide a 3M sticker, which is probably the most expensive part of the unit. Then again………….it might be bootleg.
