I am not a sound expert but I was looking for a simple car audio receiver that I could use a SD card with and did not have a CD. I installed it in my ‘98 BMW 525i to replace my unit that was stolen. Had to buy a BMW radio wire harness and antenna adapter to match up (extra $10). It is working perfectly. It matches the interior on my car perfectly.

Overall I am very pleased with the unit, no bells and whistles but more than adequate. Some minor complaints but I will survive. I am using a 2GB SD card and transferred all my favorite songs from my music collection onto it. I don’t know what is the maximum size SD card that can be used. No more car clutter with CDs and CD cases. Just slide in the SD Card and instant music.

    PROS:

    1. Simple to use.

    2. Excellent performance for a great price.

    3. No need for CDs, CD scratches and sound skips when driving

    4. Love the use of SD card and USB drive. I can change out and add songs whenever I want.

    5. AM/FM Radio reception is good.

    CONS:

    1. Face plate is not removable so is an obvious theft target.

    2. Cannot forward/reverse within a song. It starts all over or skips to next song.

    3. On car restart the unit remembers the last song, but not the last location within the song, so you have to listen to it all over again.

    4. No remote. I really wish it came with a remote. It does have a remote sensor on the face, which is weird.

Overall, I would recommend it to any non-audio freak who is not looking for all the bells and whistles.
